Not really, gentle reader. I just wanted an attention-grabbing title. I couldn't think of much else, so there it be.

I dislike so long leaving this page stagnant, oh reader, so I think that I'm going to start working on taking more pictures once more. Those of you who have waited with baited breath, rejoice! Those who don't care, rejoice anyway!

I've mostly been very busy, reader, and have started going to a rather prestigious state university, which is known for its agricultural department, of which I am now part. A tiny cog is no less a cog than a flywheel is a flywheel, reader (thought that doesn't make much sense). I'm currently listed under the Horticulture department, which makes perfect sense, and this university does not offer my favored study, entomology, as an undergraduate major. Unfortunate, to be sure, but I plan on attempting to help remedy this situation, so that those who wish to follow in the footsteps of all the great and good of the insect-loving community will be able to do so here wherever it is that I live.

My classes are going swimmingly, all-in-all, but I just wanted to say that for all of you who are at all interested in the subjects of gardening or farming, if you can, take a class in Entomology and Plant Pathology. While I may be somewhat biased in this suggestion, the discipline is one of great importance, as it allows students to more readily identify possible factors that could lead to harmful results in plants, which is useful for all gardeners and similar. I personally find it great fun as well (though this may be in part due to my exceptional teacher, who I shall refer to as 'Dr. Awesomefungus').
So, with the anecdotes that Dr. Awesomefungus has, including a hilarious story that involves bolts, pants, and a large shelf mushroom on Halloween, the entire class is easy and enjoyable to remember. I'm proud to say that I have been a part of the only class that he's taught in twenty eight years to make all B's and above on an exam as well (fingers crossed for all A's, dear readers).

And so it is that my wild, madcap adventures at an actual university begin, dear readers! I may wind up writing more about them, and I may not, but as it stands, I will leave you with amazing and fascinating lineup of my professors (all Dr.): Awesomefungus, Greatsublady, Ladybotanical, Fantastanorth, Lableader, and, of course, my advisor and landscape plants prof: Doctor Dryculturedwittyboss.
These are preliminary, however, because there is no way in hell that I can remember any of those monikers, but there you have it.

To all my faithful readers, thank you. To all my unfaithful readers, thank you. To all of you, thank you.
The Emperor Protects.

Greetings to all you devious deviants (tm?),

I have returned from a long hiatus of stillness and silence, and will not make either promises, which I would likely not keep, or even attempt to capture your attention. Instead, I would like to offer up my apology for a longstanding stint of nothingness all along the interwebz.
Not that you all care. Or know, really. Hmmm...
Anyway, it's lovely to be back, and I'm proud, pleased, and secretly jumping up and down in my seat to say that I'm in a stable, wonderful relationship, which I'll not go into details with. Suffice it to say that I've never been either as happy or as amazingly content as I am now.
In other news, a new semester has started at school, and the fall semester has since passed. No update there, sorry. Just good grades for the most part. New classes, new semester, new me? Not really. Same old me, same old pants, no more beard, but that'll grow back.

Until we meet again, may you be blessed by whatever higher power you worship. For those who chose not to, good luck!
Director Marcus.

Yep. It's me again. You're likely sick of this by now, whoever you are, but I'm back, making no promises this time and not even really caring who reads this. I've gotten through my last semester, getting my first ever C in college, but there you go. Still, my average is now a 3.94, so good news there.
I'm going into my new semester soon, on the 12th, and I'm looking forward to it a great deal. My only problem (as it is with so many, it seems), is that I have an excess of personal problems that need to be worked out and smoothed over. In short, I have about five people chasing after me who have been doing so for upwards of three months. NOT FUN. I didn't actually know about this at all until recently (the last day of the semester). Needless to say, while I'm flattered, I'm also quite wrong-footed by this unprecedented circumstance.
I don't want to have that many people hanging off me. I really don't. There are currently only three people that I'm interested in; one of whom I have basically told myself "no" to, one of whom doesn't know, and one of whom (as of this morning) it appears is completely off my radar and out of limits and bounds. It looks like she's found someone for her.
I'd like to say I'm happy, but I'm not. Great news, one of the people you find most attractive and intelligent has just thrown down the gauntlet of eternal friendship. Congratulations! Put it with the other gauntlets.
In any case, the one who doesn't know (at least I think she doesn't) is seemingly oblivious to my affections, though that is certainly at least partially my fault. Ah well, chalk this over-emotional junk up to post-holiday blahs.

In other news, I have resolved to make no new years' resolutions, as I always seem to break them and then I feel incredibly guilty. This way, I can just say that I'm going to have a nice year if possible and be on my way. Life is going pretty well otherwise down here in Lake Woebegon, so keep your heads down, eyes open, and ears pricked. You never know what may be around the corner.

Director Marcus.

Wonderful Deviants,

I have some interesting news for those of you who read journal entries. I have somehow made it through the second semester of school with a 3.875GPA, and am moving on to my next semester, which has just started. It should be noted that I am having little trouble with any of my classes (save Spanish, which is slightly confusing).
Shockingly, the class that I seem to be making the most progress and connection with is Algebra (shock/ surprise). I think that I might've previously mentioned that math isn't one of my favorite subjects, and therefore, I was somewhat surprised when I almost instantly grasped the subject material, even though it's been nearly two and a half years since I've done any sort of math subjects that I've had to do more than punch buttons on a calculator. Pleasant surprise.

I've also reacquainted myself with some of the folks that I hung out with while I was previously there, including the good (some people that have nearly edged into the "friend" category), the bad (people that just won't take a hint), and the ugly (liars, traitors, etc.). In addition, I've also run into a particular person once or twice, who I might've mentioned previously. I won't suffer paper or bytes to hear of this person again, but I think that somewhere I still harbor feelings about them (though I have yet to ascertain whether these feelings are wistful or angry). Still, I have little to say on the subject, though if something happens, I'll be sure to write about it. In fact, I think that I may be trying to start writing on Tuesdays and Thursdays, though I've said that before, this time I may actually do it.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival, people. Go outside and look at the damn moon, it's supposed to be absolutely gigantic tonight or something. It's an oriental celebration and I think that I personally am just going to sit on the front steps and eat a Moon Pie.

Other News: I've been chosen to be a part of yet another play! This time, it looks as though I'm going to be playing a British fellow named Charlie in a play called "The Foreigner". I suppose that means that I need to work on my accent, but that's all right; my family are avid watchers of the show Top Gear, which is a BBC show about cars and suchnot. I personally cannot stand cars, nor much car talk, but listening to their voices and the way that they all play off each other is hilarious. I highly recommend it to any petrol-heads out there.

  Till' next time,
Marcus

Good morrow all you devious deviants. I've gotten some sleep since the last journal entry and am feeling much better overall. The only thing gnawing at my mind at the moment is the upcoming series of finals in school.

Mind you, the finals themselves don't worry or bother me in the slightest, it's getting to the classes at their modified times that's keeping me a little on edge. Why do they have to scramble around the schedule like that to do finals? It's so bizarre.

Anyway, I've also been working a little more on the "Flight of the Heron", for all you rabid Heron fans out there, and am enjoying the experience greatly.

I also seem to have forgotten something. Oh, yes. I'm in yet another play, and have been inducted into this one in a similar manner to the last one (see previous journal entries or explanation below).

My cousin approached me and asked if I would like another, relatively small, part in an upcoming play "You Can't Take it with You", in which I was supposed to make a single small appearance and then skeedaddle. No problem, says I, I'd be delighted.

This ruse was quickly shot down when the play was changed to "And Then There were None", by Agatha Christie, and I was drafted to play the irrepressible Captain Lombard (who survives until the end of the play). Unfortunately, another of the actors dropped out about two weeks into the process, and I have since been changed over to William Blore (aka Davis, Davis is the name). He stays alive until the end as well.

In any case, I'm stuck going to play practice for three hours or so the moment I get home each day, barely having time to sit down or fix any manner of food. It's still hilariously fun, though, and I recommend being in a play to anyone who has aspirations toward public speaking, politics, or any other sort of orator-based skill set.

Thanks for listening folks, I'm off to browse the interwebs and probably won't be out of my computer trance for several hours. You probably didn't need to know that, but there you are. Luv ya,

~Marcus of Teventshire
